I was born and raised near Detroit, Michigan—a city I am very proud to be from. My childhood was filled with lots of quiet imagination and daydreams. This was where I first began storytelling—inside my own head for hours and hours. 

During college, I lived on the island of Hawai’i, where I lived for nearly 20 years. While on the island, I began to pursue dual careers in museum work and writing. I've always been drawn to caring for animals in need. Sadly, several of our rescue animals completed their life journeys during 2022. We currently have 4 cats and 1 dog, though there always seems to be room for one more.

In writing, I hope to effectively share the science fiction and fantasy stories that have been playing out in my head for years and possibly touch on those epic myths that help us discover what it might truly mean to be human.

I also enjoy reading, solving puzzles, making piñatas, traveling, creating collages, and getting into fandoms. My supportive husband has his own art business and my daughter is my greatest joy and challenge in my life. Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy the voyage!
