Book 1, The Discovery of Nisi synopsis:
Restless from having spent his whole life under strict rules on an isolated island, Leokles, a thirteen-year-old boy, has turned to breaking the law. He yearns to explore the rest of the planet Mnemesyne, but war got in his way before he was even born. 
 
He gets his chance for freedom when he’s granted a calling aboard a ship with voyagers from all over the planet. When Leo isn’t being abducted by sea creatures, surviving raging storms, or sparring in combat, he takes advantage of his time by making covert trips into the locked spaces of the voyaging ship. 
 
But when his usual talents don’t have an effect on the ship’s surly first mate and he finds himself constantly getting into trouble, Leo’s newfound freedom is threatened. He must learn to embrace knowledge surrounding his father’s death in order to save his voyage, and most importantly, to stop the killers from becoming too powerful once again and threatening those he loves.
